Legendary Fashion house Miu Miu influenced by Pop Surrealism and Mark Ryden?

While in Vegas I visited City Center's new ultra high end shopping space. (I hesitate to call it a mall). One of the massive campaigns for the new Las Vegas Miu Miu store really caught my eye. It was two massive ads, and must have been 2 to 3 stories high by several hundred feet long. (much larger than a standard billboard.)

What really struck me is the model chosen, (Lindsey Wixson) to be the current face of Miu Miu. Her exaggerated features, and baby faced makeup reminds me a lot of the baby/doll paintings by artists such as Mark Ryden in the Lowbrow/Pop Surrealism movement.

The hair, and the makeup particularly remind me of Ryden's "Snow Yak" show in tokyo, heavily profiled in a recent issue of Hi-Fructose (issue 11).

Lindsey Wixson (a 16 year old Wichita native turned Mega Model), looks like a living  Mark Ryden painting.

Do you agree? Sound off...
